Details
112,270 customers who have worker's compensation claims. Information on 72 of the customers has been sold over the Internet. A computer programmer-consultant who worked for a firm hired by Sentry obtained the customer data and sold the information for 72 customers over the Internet. He was indicted on July 19 on identity theft and other charges by the US attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee. There is no evidence that data on the other customers was passed along illegally. Those affected by the breach have been notified and are being provided credit monitoring service to help prevent fraudulent use of their personal information. Sentry customers with questions about the breach can call Sentry at 1-888-874-4453.
