Details

An estimated 800,000 individuals who applied online for employment at Gap stores, including Banana Republic and Old Navy, between July 2006 and July 2007.

Notification letters were sent to those affected this week.

Job seeker records were breached when two laptops were stolen from a third party vendor employed by Gap to process online applications. Only one of the laptops contained data. The data was not encrypted, but the laptop was password protected.
